Quick answer

A confirmed LC can reduce certain bank or country risks for the beneficiary, but it does not remove the need for clean document presentation. The document package still has to be reviewed carefully.

What confirmation means

A confirmed LC includes an additional undertaking from a confirming bank, usually in the beneficiary’s country or another acceptable jurisdiction.

What it does not change

Confirmation does not erase the document examination process. The presented documents must still comply with the LC and applicable rules.

Why review is still important

A refusal or discrepancy notice can still create fees, delays, amendment requests, customer friction, and repeated correction work.

Practical review points

Check confirming bank details, expiry/place of presentation, document requirements, transport wording, dates, amounts, tolerance, and any special conditions before presentation.
